In 1953 Volkswagen Motors Ltd became the official UK importer. In 1978 Volkswagen centralised its operations and moved into its headquarters in Blakelands, Milton Keynes. From Blakelands the company controls sourcing, marketing and distribution of all vehicles and parts in the UK and provides a host of support services to both
its retailers and customers. Today Volkswagen UK, as part of the Volkswagen Group, is one of the country's largest importers of vehicles. Ranked 3rd for market share in its industry and twice awarded a place in the "Sunday Times Best 100 Companies to Work For” in 2005 and 2006, the Group employs over 500 people at its UK headquarters located in Milton Keynes. With such a workforce, Volkswagen truly believe that "it's not just the car, it’s the people" that make the difference!
Placement schemes are also available for positions in the UK office. (There is currently no Graduate Scheme for 2008/9).
