What is an electronic engine immobiliser? It's an anti-theft device that immobilises your car, preventing the wrong user from starting your engine, and driving off. The immobiliser uses a sophisticated coding software system that has revolutionised car security, by ensuring the correct key is being used to start the vehicle. How does it work? When the key is inserted, a transponder in the key communicates a unique code to the car therefore ensuring that only the correct key will start the engine. You can rest assured that the engine will not start, even if someone has a perfect copy of your key, as it will not have the right code.
